GIẢI VÔ ĐỊCH CỜ VUA CÁC LỨA TUỔI ĐÔNG NAM Á LẦN THỨ 3 - 2002 3rd ASEAN Age-Group Chess Championship
Giải vô địch cờ vua các lứa tuổi Đông Nam Á diễn ra tại Singapore từ ngày 9 đến 14 tháng 6, gồm các nhóm tuổi 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 nam và nữ tranh cá nhân và đồng đội với 3 người cao nhất. Có 228 kỳ thủ từ 7 nước tham dự: Singapore - 130; Vietnam - 55; Indonesia - 16; Malaysia - 12; Brunei - 9; Myanmar - 5; Philippines - 1. Giải diễn ra tại Trường Đại học quốc gia Singapore do Liên đoàn cờ Singapore tổ chức với sự tài trợ của công ty Intchess Asia. Đoàn Việt Nam đã giành thắng lợi tuyệt đối với 27 vàng, 6 bạc và 12 đồng Vietnam gained an absolute victory at the third Southeast Asian Age-Group Chess Championships that ended in Singapore on June 15. The country won not only the whole 12 team’s championships but also all the 15 individual gold medals at the tournament. Apart from the 27 gold medals, the Vietnamese players bagged home six silver and twelve bronze medals, totalling 45 medals of all kinds. With such triumph, Vietnam has defended its regional championships and confirmed its absolute strength in the chess event in the Southeast Asian region. Final Individual Tournament
